2023 Scientist of the week, Pembroke Elementary School

We taught Detroit area 1st graders about bacteria and cultured bacteria from their hands.  Students concluded that it was very important to wash their hands, especially after going to the bathroom!

2020 Wayne State STEM Day

We taught Detroit area middle school students about genetically inherited diseases using the OMIM tool with Prof. Fan and Prof. Hao.

2016 AP Day

Taught Detroit area high school students about recent advances in bacterial cell biology as part of a session on science in the biological sciences department.  Professor Schrader also contributed on a panel discussion about science careers.
